The ISYS:web Browse page displays the contents of the selected document. At the top of the document are the following options:

Previous Document - This link will jump you to the previous document in the document list. If this option is not underlined it means you are looking at the top document in the document list.

Next Document - This link will jump you to the next document in the document list. If this option is not underlined it means you are looking at the last document in the document list.

First Hit - This link will jump you to the first hit in the document.

Native Document Type - This allows you to view or download the document in it's original format. Document Type is replaced by the file type of the document you are viewing. e.g. If the document you were viewing was HTML the heading would read Native HTML (see example below). Another example: when searching on .mp3 files, the Native MP3 link would activate a media player.

View Image - This link enables you to view any images associated with the document you are viewing. If this option is not underlined it means there are no images associated with the document.

Back to Results - This link will take you back to the Document List.

New Search - This link will take you back to a page where you can perform a new search.

This is an example of the top section of the ISYS:web Browse Page

Note: This section of the ISYS:web Browse Page is highly configurable by your ISYS:web Administrator and may not look exactly as the example above.

The ISYS:web Browse Page has a number of special features to help you navigate through documents. You can scroll through the text, go to the next or pervious hit, or display the next or previous document from the document list.

By default ISYS:web creates a hypertext link on each hit in the document, this hypertext link will jump you to the next hit in the document.

Your ISYS:web Administrator may have elected to use icons to indicate each hit they will look like these:

Outline View

In situations where large documents have been made available your ISYS:web Administrator may elect to use the Outline View option. This option means that large documents can be broken down into more easily transmittable chunks.

Outline View looks very similar to the normal Document Browse page, there are two extra links however; one at the top of the document text and one at the end of the document text. These links allow you to expand your view of the document either up or down. e.g. if you were viewing the hits in the first 10 lines of the document and you were to click on the Expand down link, ISYS:web will refresh the page with an additional 10 lines of text. You can continue doing this for as long as there is more text to follow. This works the same with expand up.

The number of lines of text displayed in Outline View is set by your ISYS:web Administrator.

The links associated with the word hits in the document work just as they do in the normal Document Browse page.

Annotations

If an annotation is present, an icon will appear in the body of the document. To view or activate an annotation, simply click once on the icon.

Annotations are created by your ISYS:web Administrator or anyone who has access to the retail version of ISYS.

The annotation icons are:
